Job Summary: 

The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that all technical aspects of projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and according to established timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, technical expertise in engineering, and experience in the chemical or energy materials industries. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Project Execution: 

Oversee the technical aspects of assigned projects, including design, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. 

Provide hands-on support in solving technical issues as they arise on the construction site. 

Coordination with Project Manager: 

Work closely with the Project Manager to align technical project deliverables with the overall business objectives. 

Assist the Project Manager in translating client needs into actionable engineering tasks. 

Quality Control and Compliance: 

Ensure adherence to safety standards, engineering codes, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle. 

Conduct regular inspections and address any engineering-related deficiencies. 

Resource and Budget Management: 

Coordinate with technical teams to manage resources, ensuring efficient use of materials and workforce. 

Provide input on engineering-related budgeting, particularly concerning material costs and labor allocation. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

Act as a liaison between engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate timely project delivery. 

Maintain consistent communication with the Project Manager, providing updates on technical progress and resource needs. 

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. 

Proven experience in project engineering, particularly in chemical or energy-related industries. 

Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and project management tools. 

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and address technical issues promptly.

Job Summary: 

We are hiring a Battery Materials Scientists to support GEO’s growing U.S. customer base through a mix of hands-on lab work, technical troubleshooting, and customer-facing execution. This senior-level individual contributor role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of chemistry, client service, and technical innovation. You’ll act as the technical bridge between customers and internal R&D—ensuring the products we deliver align precisely with customer specifications. This is one of the first hires supporting our North America service lab operations, with initial onboarding in China and potential travel to California, Tennessee, and other customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:

•Prepare, categorize, and deliver electrolyte samples that meet precise customer specifications

•Act as the technical point of contact for key accounts—translating customer needs into clear inputs for R&D and sales teams

•Support logistics, shipping, and documentation to ensure smooth sample delivery and issue resolution

•Travel a minimum of 30% to customer sites for support, troubleshooting, and relationship management

•Assist with lab setup and maintenance, including equipment oversight and quality control of sample preparation

•Collaborate closely with global R&D, sales, and manufacturing teams to deliver timely and effective technical service

•Represent GEO at conferences, industry meetings, and customer-facing events

Qualifications:

•Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

•3+ years of experience in battery materials, chemical R&D, or a related technical role; lithium-ion experience preferred but not required

•Strong hands-on experience preparing and testing electrolytes or advanced battery materials

•Ability to lead technical conversations with senior customer stakeholders (executive presence)

•Detail-oriented with strong skills in lab work, documentation, and communication

•Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and project leadership abilities

•Mandarin proficiency is strongly preferred but not required

•Willingness to travel:

    o 30% or more domestically (e.g., California, Tennessee)

    o 10% or more internationally

    o Must be available for 2–3 weeks of onboarding in China

•5–7 years of experience in strategy execution, GTM, or B2B project management; experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or technical sales strongly valued.

•Direct experience with clean tech, chemical, or energy industries is a plus.

•Proven ability to prioritize competing initiatives with clear business logic and a sharp understanding of revenue generation.

•Demonstrated success managing regional execution of global initiatives, with a preference for candidates with exposure to Europe or APAC collaboration.

•Strong communicator with excellent presentation and stakeholder alignment skills.

•Comfortable working cross-functionally and across time zones; must be fluent in English and culturally competent in U.S. business practices.

•Entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on executor with high business acumen.

Perform electrical installations on designated equipment (mechanical assembly of distribution routes, cable distribution, and connection to individual components and into the electrical distribution cabinet, mechanical assembly of electrical components on hydraulic equipment, etc.)

Manufacture brackets, mount components, and label distribution and terminal cabinets according to provided electrical documentation

Conduct testing of proper cable connection

Operate machines and equipment necessary for production or support of electrical assembly

Education in the electrical field

Professional qualification in electrical engineering according to Government Regulation No. 194/2022 Coll. §6

Knowledge and ability to read electrical documentation and diagrams

Crane operator certification – an advantage

Establish and maintain the GEO CZ EHS management system by implementation & optimizations of the GEO corporate EHS directives.

Certification / Re-Certification of GEO CZ EHS management as to ISO 14.001 & ISO 45.001.

Establish and leads the site EHS Committee and ensure that EHS related decisions taken by this instance are implemented.Start EHS incident reporting and investigations system for all GEO CZ operations.

Audit the regulatory compliance of the GEO CZ production operations by internal or external resources; track corrective action progress.

Establish GEO CZ yearly EHS KPI, monthly tracking of the development and year end evaluation

Ensures that all requirements regarding health and safety as stipulated in the Czech regulations are adhered to by the staff.

Establish and maintain an Emergency plan for the GEO CZ operations.

Act as the primary point of contact on EHS matters to national/regional authorities and industry organizations

Support of new GEO investment projects with EHS expertise concerning permitting and EHS aspects.   

Preparation of all regulatory EHS documents, incl. regulatory reports, technical dossiers and change notifications

Management of GEO product SDS as to REACh/CLP directives

Attend REACh reporting and customer information requirements for the GEO products.

If required engage with the customer departments on the safe use of GEO products.

Audit RM & FG transport management / container handling

Prepare and submit EHS reports and overviews to GEO Management when requested.Supervision and guidance of subordinated GEO employees and/or contractor workers.Ensure that a regular EHS training is provided to all GEO personnel, contractors and visitors on chemical, fire and ATEX risks

University degree, preferably in a technical field

Knowledge of legal norms and regulations in labor law, occupational safety, and environmental protection, as well as familiarity with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) standards

Professional competence in risk prevention according to Act No. 309/2006, and certified competency for fire protection according to Act No. 133/1985 (minimum level: technician for fire protection)

Experience in an industrial company with the implementation of safe workplace principles, ability to manage processes for risk identification and elimination

Language skills - English, both spoken and written (minimum level B2)
